9:30am-12:30pm

Ages 6-12

Join us for a creative adventure at our Print themed Summer Art Camp.

Printmaking is a versatile and expressive art form that involves creating multiple images from a single design. We will explore techniques such as block printing, monotype, and stamp making, each offering unique possibilities for creativity and exploration.

Printmaking benefits children by providing a hands-on experience that stimulates their creativity, encourages experimentation, and fosters artistic expression. It also improves fine motor skills, encourages problem-solving, and boosts confidence in young students artistic abilities.

We will be getting messy so make sure to bring an apron or an old shirt, and a snack and water bottle for drinking.

Please bring a $10 materials fee for the instructor first day of class.

Artist/instructor statement:

As an artist and educator, I draw inspiration from the beautiful People and Places of Vancouver Island, where I was born and raised. Currently, I teach art for the Surrey School district and the City of Surrey, a role that allows me to share my passion for creativity with young minds.

My journey in the arts began with earning a degree in Visual Arts from Emily Carr’s University of Art + Design, followed by a Bachelor of Education from UBC. These experiences have shaped my artistic vision and teaching philosophy, emphasizing the importance of exploration and expression in art.

I find great joy in teaching, especially when I see the world of art through the fresh eyes of my students. Their enthusiasm and curiosity fuel my own creativity and drive to continually evolve as an artist. My artistic practice spans painting, printmaking, and digital art, each medium offering unique opportunities for exploration and expression. Through my work, I aim to inspire others to embrace their creativity and see the beauty in the world around them.
