You will learn to design inspired, whimsical textile works of art through the process of intuitive collage using monoprinting, applique and stitch. I guarantee an inspired learning environment in which there are no mistakes. I will guide you through a creative journey of abstract expression with paint, a gel plate, fabric and thread. By the end of this class, you will have experienced a connection and a method of creating using a loose and intuitive approach to textile art.

Technically in this class, you will learn how to lift beautiful fabric prints loaded with visual interest using the gelli plate. I will teach you a process of intuitive abstract collaging guaranteed to inspire your creative muse as we assemble layers of fabric, lace and fibre bits to achieve unexpected results. Later, we'll bring it all together with the contemplative art of slow stitching. We may use a sewing machine for some simple stitching if inspiration leads us in that direction. By the end of this course you will have designed an expressive fabric art scroll that is uniquely you.

Bio
I am a textile collage artist and art doll designer. My artwork has been proudly featured several times in Stampington & Co.'s gorgeous print magazines, including Art Quilting Studio Magazine, Green Craft, Art Journaling and Somerset Studio. I have also been showcased on StitchesbyJulia, a popular YouTube host and textile artist, who dedicated an entire playlist to my collaged snippet rolls. I have been teaching and inspiring the creative spirits of others for over 15 years. I also design textile collages for other artists to use in their own works. The authenticity of my work is expressed most clearly amongst loose threads, unconventional colour combinations, raw edges and abstraction. Some of my creations can be found on instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/kitschychic
