In this workshop, students will create a small edition of multi-coloured prints by carving a single linoleum plate. A cohesive colour palette is achieved with this process by carving one layer, printing it across your edition, carving some more, printing again on the same pages, and repeating as needed. As a general rule, consecutive ink colours must be darker or less saturated than the previous layer and discussions and demonstrations will focus on thinking through the images as areas or blocks of colour. Students must bring with them a minimum of two colour sketches and have some relief printing experience.
All classes and workshops are non-refundable. Cancellations made 7 days, or more in advance of the workshop or class date will receive 100% credit. 6 days before class, and no credit will be issued.
