Artist's Story
Jack's interest in art began at a young age and developed through the visual and performing arts program at Cowichan Senior High School in Duncan. After graduation, Jack studied Classical Guitar at the Victoria Conservatory of Music while working with a private art tutor. Vocation, family, and further studies (music, and graduate work in theology) led Jack to serve over 25 years in a Christian mission. This included pastoring, campus ministry, and teaching short-term theology module courses in Eastern and Western Europe. Postgraduate studies led to a Doctor of Ministry. Jack rekindled his interest in Art upon retiring in Nanaimo BC Canada where he tends to his Island-inspired acrylic landscapes, village and city scenes, along with various subjects that interest him.
