$75 plus $20 material fee
Over this 2.5 hours workshop, you will be introduced to the calligraphy tools, practice basic strokes and then move on to creating letterforms and words. You will then be shown how to develop your own style, which we will practice applying to envelopes, gift tags, etc.
You will leave with all of the tools needed to continue on your calligraphy journey. No experience necessary.
Modern calligraphy has exploded in popularity in recent years - it is a take on the traditional style of copperplate calligraphy. We use the same tools, but follow less rules, which enables the calligrapher to easily create their own style.
Teacher profile
Your tutor, Megan Riera worked as a calligrapher in London for 6+ years. Her scope of work was varied and included live calligraphy/personalisation events for clients such as Chanel, Burberry and MAC cosmetics, stationery design for the events industry and various other branding and design commissions. She also taught regular modern calligraphy workshops around the UK.
Materials are provided with a $20 cash fee, please bring to class.
All classes and workshops are non-refundable. Cancellations made 7 days, or more in advance of the workshop or class date will receive 100% credit. 6 days before class, and no credit will be issued.
