The botanical dye workshops offer an experience creating a dyebath and create textile and fibre art work using natural resist and immersion techniques.
The workshop includes a hands-on experience, easy-to-follow instructions, demonstration and technique. All supplies and equipment are included...... just put on your play clothes and come have some fun!
Each workshop is an opportunity to experience at least two different natural dyes, often locally sourced. Plant, floral, leaf or fresh, and in season, or dye matter previously gathered and stored. At time the instructor will introduce a historical dye.
This workshop is designed and focused on experiencing the dye process and is an introduction to basic techniques and terminology. It is designed to a fun hands on experience and simply to peak one's curiosity to further explore more in-depth study of natural dyes. This is not a technical class.
