Join us for an engaging one-day workshop designed to introduce you to printmaking using DIY gel plates and Akua inks. Led by Francesca, an artist known for her colourful and abstract mixed media art, this workshop will cover essential gel plate techniques including the use of masks and stencils, texture, layering, colour blending, and composition. Francesca will share a simple DIY method for making your own gel plates at home, as well as her innovative approach to making this art form both accessible and affordable. You will gain an understanding of how these versatile tools can be used together to create one-of-a-kind artworks.
What you learn will empower you to continue your exploration of printmaking long after the workshop ends. All necessary materials will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your favourite mark- making tools to further personalize your work. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your skills and expand your creative repertoire.
