This workshop will prepare participants for plein-air sketching and painting by introducing simple, effective techniques for capturing memorable scenes from special places—whether outdoors, indoors, or while travelling. Participants will be encouraged to develop a regular sketching practice and build a personal creative journal. Working in a travel-sized sketchbook, you will learn the fundamentals of sketching, including perspective, composition, and the use of colour to enhance their work. Drawings will begin in pencil, be refined in ink, and completed with watercolour washes. The workshop will also cover essential plein-air equipment, practical setup techniques, and recommended supplies for travel and hiking.
